To: Mr. Michael Masutha, South African Minister of Justice, and members of the South African Parliament

“Corrective rape” is one of the most vile and atrocious assaults committed regularly against lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people in South Africa - another case happened just a few weeks ago.

The Hate Crimes Bill will help combat these crimes. It's unacceptable to delay it any longer.

Earlier this month, a lesbian couple in South Africa was victim to an inexplicable and violent attack: a group of men broke into their home and raped them, seeking to "remind them that they are women."

"Corrective rape" is one of the most vile and atrocious assaults committed regularly against LGBT people in South Africa. A bill sitting on the desk of South African Minister of Justice, Michael Masutha, could help stop these crimes - but he keeps delaying it.

Thousands of South Africans are asking Minister Masutha to release the bill immediately. We need your help to make sure the message is heard loud and clear.

Sign now to help us stop hate crimes in South Africa.
