To: Malaysian Ministry of Health and other Authorities

We urge you to stop any and all "courses" aimed at changing trans people. Gender identities can't be changed and it's harmful to try to change them. Instead of the "courses," we urge you to meet with local trans activists to discuss ways to ensure the safety and dignity of the trans community in Malaysia.

UPDATE – 20 June 2018: Today we delivered our signatures to the Minister of Health of Malaysia. We'll keep monitoring the situation with partners on the ground as we wait for a response.

Authorities in Malaysia have been offering "courses" to try and change transgender people.

These courses are incredibly harmful. Authorities claim it's a programme to give trans people "different opportunities," but we know what they're really doing: teaching trans people to hate themselves and trying to "convert" them to fit the government's idea of "normal."

We're mobilising to try and stop these dangerous "courses" and secure a meeting with the Minister of Health – but he won't listen unless thousands of people join our outcry.

More "courses" targeting trans people in Malaysia could start soon. Will you sign the petition and help us stop them?

This campaign is being run in conjunction with SEED and Asia Pacific Transgender Network.
