To: The National Council of the Medical Order in Tunisia

Forced “anal tests” are used in Tunisia to prove people are gay.

They have no scientific value and are a form of sexual abuse.

We call on you to completely ban this horrible practice and punish all doctors who practice them.

This campaign has ended.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates and help us get the word out about our campaigns for love and equality.

UPDATE: 10 October 2017: Amazing news – the Tunisian government accepted a recommendation from the UN and promised to put an end to "anal tests". It's a first step, but it's unlikely they will see it through unless they know the world is watching. Click here to tell the Tunisian government to keep their promise and end “anal tests” once and for all.

UPDATE: 2 May 2017: Members of All Out and Shams, our partners in Tunisia, delivered over 45,000 signatures to the country's National Council of the Medical Order, urging them to completely ban forced “anal tests” and punish all doctors who practice them. Check out the photos of the delivery here.

If you're arrested under Tunisia’s anti-gay law, authorities can force you to undergo “anal testing.” They claim it’s an examination to find "evidence" of your sexual orientation. It's actually a traumatising sexual assault that proves absolutely nothing.

The National Council of the Medical Order called for doctors to stop carrying out anal exams without consent. This is a step in the right direction, but it’s not enough. The police are known to force people accused of same-sex conduct to consent.

If thousands of us speak out now, we can help end these abhorrent practices once and for all. Demand that the National Council of the Medical Order to completely ban anal tests and punish those who practice them in Tunisia.
