UPDATE — 21 January 2019: We delivered the signatures to the world leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum. You can continue to support LGBT+ people at risk in Chechnya by donating to our emergency evacuation fundraiser here — run in partnership with the Russian LGBT Network.
-------------------------------
The anti-gay crackdown has resumed in Chechnya. At least 40 people have been arrested and tortured - because authorities "suspect" they are LGBT+. At least two of them have been murdered.
Two years ago, when the first reports of an anti-gay purge in Chechnya came out, we asked you for help getting the world to pay attention. And we need you again.
On January 22-25, world leaders will gather in Switzerland for the World Economic Forum – a high-level Russian delegation will be present and there is even a chance President Putin himself will be there.
If thousands of us, around the world, can get our own leaders to publicly denounce the crackdown in Chechnya during the event, it will generate a media storm that Russian authorities won't be able to ignore.
Will you call on world leaders to speak out against the new wave of anti-gay killings and torture in Chechnya?
This campaign is being run in conjunction with the Russian LGBT Network.
