TO: Sherilyn S. McCoy CEO, Avon International

As a major global brand with an admirable record of supporting women's rights and LGBT equality, Avon's relationship with Brazil's most notorious anti-gay extremist is unacceptable.

We the undersigned world citizens - and Avon customers - ask you to protect Avon's positive image, and stop selling books by renowned anti-gay extremist Pastor Silas Malafaia.

This campaign has ended.

Update June 20th 2012 - You raised your voice and Avon's done it! The world's largest cosmetic company has sent a strong message against hate. This week, Avon pulled all homophobic books by anti-gay extremist pastor Malafaia from their catalogue. The pressure has clearly done the trick - Avon officially removed all of the hate mongering books from its shelves on June 13th.

Avon, one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world, sells makeup to millions of customers in Brazil. They also sell books - including books by Silas Malafaia, an evangelical firebrand who recently told the New York Times that he's “public enemy number one of the gay movement in Brazil."

In Brazil these kinds of threats are no joke. In recent years the country has seen a huge spike in hate crimes against gays, lesbians and trans people, making it one of the deadliest places in the world to live openly and love who you choose.

Malafaia was recently called out by the Brazilian government for inciting violence against gays. That's why it's such a shock to see him promoted by Avon - the same company whose U.S. branch just received a prestigious “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality" designation by the Human Rights Campaign.

Tell Avon's brand new CEO, Sherilyn S. McCoy, that her company's positive image worldwide is at serious risk for supporting hatemongers like Malafaia. Sign now, and All Out members in NYC will deliver your signatures directly to Avon headquarters.
